This project was started in 1997 in order to provide free artificial aids to poor disabled patients. It is conducted Every Wednesday and Saturday at 8.00 a.m.
Beneficiaries: Free corrective surgeries are done for the poor and needy patients.
Disabled persons are issued limbs, calipers etc., at free of cost.
This programme has been of immense gratification to the hospital, as even hard cases became success stories after appropriate procedure. The patients while entering the hospital come in a situation in which cannot walk even two steps. But after the corrective surgery and physiotherapy, they feel better and comfortable with the artificial aid and walk by themselves without anybody’s support.
Source of funds: Rs 1,50,000 donated by Reha Swiss of Switzerland towards supply of free limbs alone. The cost of supply of other aids is being met by the hospital.
Ms. Shoba Bidyut Parruck of California, has donated US$5,000 towards this programme.
Project Status: This is an on-going project to continue indefinitely.
